DescriptionSecond edition (the first from 1981). An anthology of four stories included in the collection «Tus libros. Policíacos». Translation by Julio Gómez de la Serna, introduction and appendix by Juan José Millás, and black and white illustrations by Hermann Vogel, Aubrey Beardsley, Harry Clarke, George Antoine Marie Rochegrosse, and Arthur Rackham. It also includes a portrait of Poe engraved by Justo Barboza Colantonio and a color illustrated cover (it duplicates one of the illustrations from «The Gold-Bug»).
Vogel's illustration first appeared in Paris: Quantin, 1884; Beardsley Four, Chicago: Herbert S. Stone and Company, 1894-95; Clarke's two, in London: George G. Harrap and Co., 1919 and 1923; Rochegrosse's nine, engraved by Rita Dreyfus, Beltrand, R. Blot and C. C., in Le Scarabee d'Or (Paris: Librairie des Amateurs. A. Ferroud - F. Ferroud, 1926); and both from Rackham, in London: George G. Harrap and Co., 1935.
