DescriptionThis selection of Poe's tales appeared both in weekly installments (this issue) and in a single volume with a cover illustrated with a portrait of Poe. It was part of the series "La Novela de Ahora" (second period, XLI) and had a foreword by Alfonso Hernández Catá, who also did the translation.
The illustrations correspond to Manuel Picolo López, Elías Corona Gómez-Gamero, José Cuevas, Isidro Gil y Gabilondo and Evaristo Barrio, regular collaborators of Calleja. One of the two illustrations of "Berenice" is repeated full page as a frontispiece and as a vignette in the text.
It includes Las pesadillas by Gustavo Toudouze: “El cuco fatídico“, “La rosa sangrienta“ y “El ánfora“.
Bound in hard cover and preceded by the installments XLII (Emilio Salgari, Al Polo Norte), XLVIII (Emilio Salgari, Los solitarios del Océano), LII (Emilio Salgari, Las panteras de Argel), and LIII (Emilio Salgari, El filtro de los califas).
