DescriptionFirst time that the edition The Poetical Works of Edgar Allan Poe is published, it is subsequently republished and reprinted on successive occasions, with some changes in the illustrations.
It includes the preface "Life and Genius of Edgar Allan Poe" by James Hannay, who dedicates the volume to Dante Gabriel Rosseti "with the highest admiration and with brotherly regard", and forty-three poems by Poe.
It contained twenty illustrations, including a portrait of Poe and the frontispiece with illustration of "The Raven". The illustrations are designed by Edward Henry Wehmert, James Godwin, Frederick William Hulme, and Harrison Weir. George Dalziel and his brother Edward Dalziel were in charge of the wood engravings.
Hardbound book with half leather binding.
